The Green River Drift

Apr 17, 2026 by Neva Bodin

Imagine riding a horse with other cowboys, pushing a large herd of cattle up into their summer pasture in the mountains! Fresh air, sunshine, trail dust, smells of fresh grass, pine trees, and a few other fresh smells as well! Camping out, campfire meals! Sound romantic? Yes and no. Keep on the lookout for rebellious cattle, your horse going lame, hard ground for sleeping, and predators watching. Maybe a mountain storm or two. Better be ready to sing to the cattle to calm them. That's all part of traveling spring and fall on the Green River Drift trail.
