I Made No Formal Resolution
Mar 11, 2023 by Neva Bodin
It seems it's traditional to make New Year's resolutions. I used to. But I've finally decided I'm only setting myself up for disappointment. And who wants that?
It's already March and I haven't met many I informally made in my mind: losing a certain amount of weight; getting my latest novel out by Valentine's day; having my taxes done way ahead of time. I'm sure there are more, but my failing memory is failing me!
Do you have resolutions that you have made and failed to meet? I'd like to hear about them. Or do you have plans to make yet that you will keep?
I am not good at meeting my deadlines, only meeting ones someone else has set for me. I do manage a monthly church newsletter written by the deadline, I did get an article into a magazine by the deadline, and I have only missed 2 weekly blogs on writingwranglersandwarriors--wordpress/com.
I am currently trying to get my new novel IFalling for the Doc done. But running it through my AI editing program--Autocrit-- is proving quite laborious. I love repeating my words and that is a no-no in writing. It is a romance with a little mystery and a novella which is shorter than a novel. I already have some pre-orders so hopefully I will get it done soon.
Share your resolutions and how they are going. I'd love to hear about them.
